In this role, you will be responsible for various activities related to the development, testing, certification, production, and ongoing support of Avionics Systems for advanced business aircraft. Specifically, you will:
- Define and oversee the requirements for systems and subsystems to ensure compliance with safety, certification, and design objectives.
- Collaborate with system suppliers and other relevant disciplines to ensure seamless integration of systems into the aircraft.
- Manage the timely integration of systems, including AFCS, Communication (VHF, HF, SATCOM, Datalink), Navigation (ADF, VOR, ILS, DME, TCAS, Transponder, IRS, GPS, FMS, Weather Radar), Displays (EFIS, EICAS, HUD, SVS), and Information/Maintenance & Recording (IMS, OMS, Data load, CVR, FDR, AHMS).
- Conduct or oversee development and certification testing on aircraft and/or test rigs.
- Review, analyze, and validate test results.
- Support ARP4754 system and aircraft verification and validation processes.
- Manage and approve deliverables from Avionics System Suppliers.
- Liaise with Certifying Authorities to facilitate system certification.
- Assist the Final Assembly Line and address design-related issues for in-service aircraft.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of tools and processes to meet organizational goals.
- Participate in the development and implementation of software for crew alerting logic, synoptic pages, I/O configuration in an IMA environment, and automation of aircraft-level functions.
- A university degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the industry.
- Strong understanding of Avionics Systems.
- Familiarity with the integration and interaction of these systems within the overall aircraft framework.
- Knowledge and/or experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in the specification, design, integration, testing, and certification of Avionics systems on aircraft.
- Awareness of industry standards such as DO-178, DO-160, and ARP4754 is advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, along with effective work planning and prioritization skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel as required.
