Job Summary

The Commercial Services Manager is responsible for aggregates volume, price, and margin across Dufferin Aggregates service areas, as well as growth in the soils management business. While driving growth, profitable sales, and effective execution of strategy for its assigned line of businesses, the Commercial Services Manager will also ensure that environmental and health & safety standards are met through compliance of Company standards and local legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales of aggregates volume, price, and margin across Dufferin Aggregates service areas.
  • Growth in the soil management line of business.
  • Ensure the execution of commercial strategies and key performance indicators.
  • Develops annual commercial strategy, identifies risk, and develops new opportunities.
  • Oversees customer service team to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Communicates marketing strategy to internal and necessary external stakeholders.
  • Ensures OH&S standards and performance objectives/targets are met by employees.
  • Identifies and fills all critical positions within its line of business.
  • Contributes to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
  • Drives any necessary culture change and improvement in business performance to deliver strategic goals.
  • Supports and drives Health and Safety processes and procedures within the organization, implementing a behavioral approach to safety and a zero-tolerance culture.
  • Motivates and provides direction to the sales organization.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree with a focus on business or economics with 10+ years of experience in the aggregates industry.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a cross-functional team and/or sales organization within a matrix-driven environment.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and communicate appropriate metrics, interpret trends, and adjust strategies as needed in response to changing market conditions and/or role requirements.
  • Experience operating in and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Customer-focused & adaptable, with superb communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
