Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a key role in leading the collaboration and engagement with product and engineering teams to deliver cutting-edge and innovative solutions based on architectural best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Architecture Team
Work closely with the architecture team to propose the most efficient solution for our products and services.
Present Solutions to Senior Architects and ManagementPresent solutions to senior architects, engineering, and management to ensure alignment and buy-in.
Ensure Solutions are Well-ArchitectedEnsure that solutions are well-architected based on CoStar Ecosystem Standards and guidelines.
Stay Up-to-Date with Industry TrendsStay current with current and future trends, technology, and information that will positively affect organizational projects.
Apply Emerging TechnologiesApply and integrate emerging technologies and patterns to new and existing systems architecture where appropriate.
Develop Solution ArchitectureAssist in the development of solution architecture (both tactical and strategic) to fully manage/support the company's products, services, systems, and technologies.
Plan and Design New SystemsAssist in the planning and design of new or upgraded systems.
Implement Process ImprovementsInteract with departments to implement improvements in process.
Mentor Team MembersMentor team members in relevant technologies and architecture patterns.
Develop and Document Best PracticesDevelop, document, and ensure compliance with best practices including but not limited to data management, coding standards, object-oriented designs, cloud-delivery patterns, and human interface guidelines.
Requirements
- Experience
Generally requires 15+ years of experience.
Software Architect Experience5 years+ of experience as a Software Architect.
EducationBachelor's degree in computer science or relevant field from an accredited university or college.
Knowledge and SkillsA broad knowledge base across engineering technologies, disciplines, and platforms.
Communication SkillsExceptional communication skills and the ability to evangelize solutions to all levels of the organization.
Programming LanguagesExtensive experience in software engineering with expert-level proficiency in at least one of these programming languages: C#, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript.
Cloud ComputingStrong understanding of the cloud computing model, information risk and security guidelines, and architecture standards and best practices.
Cloud ToolsHands-on experience with cloud tools using Amazon Web Services (AWS) services or GCP or Azure.
Database SystemsExperience modeling and implementing large-scale relational and NoSQL database systems.
Event-Oriented ArchitecturesExperience designing/implementing event-oriented architectures and real-time data streaming solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Test Data Management
Experience with test data management design patterns and implementations in a cloud environment.
Analytic FrameworksUnderstanding of analytic frameworks AI, machine learning, neural networks, or deep learning techniques to solve business problems.
Team PlayerTeam player able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others toward consensus.

This position offers a base salary range of $165,000 to $200,000, based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous benefits plan.
