Accounting Operations Manager

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions
* Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
* Ensure the accounting operations and financial month-end procedures are followed properly; coordinate month-end deadlines with all involved parties to achieve the established close deadline
* Ensure the accurate and timely presentation of the Monthly Cost of Service Toll Statement and the Monthly Settlement with the Toll Payers
* Review and ensure efficient management of cash and bank account management and reporting, credit, banking, and commercial contract review and compliance, covenant compliance and reporting, marketing analysis (including pricing analysis)
* Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements; provide leadership with information vital to the decision-making process
* Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes
* Evaluate accounting and internal control systems and make recommendations and/or changes
* Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
* Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
* Lead and train skilled accounting staff within their purview

**Requirements:**

* Understand, create, and maintain a visible commitment to process and personal safety, as well as the safety of others
* Accounting or equivalent degree and designated professional accountant (CPA); minimum 7 years of total finance/accounting experience
* Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
* Must be a team player: willing to continuously and proactively collaborate, share, and seek information and guidance
* Must have strong investigative skills and an ability to ask questions to draw out required information
* Must be willing to make decisions and influence others in line with adherence to and development of processes and policies
* Must be self-confident enough to seek assistance with difficult or complex issues
