About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Business Development Manager to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic oversight for client engagement activities, focusing on upgrades and other strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with product teams to execute client engagement strategies, including upgrades, generic switch, and other initiatives.
  • Identify areas for business growth and develop strategies to accelerate share of wallet, engage clients, and drive balance growth.
  • Develop and implement business cases to enhance campaign and offer execution, focusing on response rates, spend/balance growth, profitability, and investment optimization.
  • Monitor and report on strategy effectiveness, preparing executive-level presentations and providing insights to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in client engagement and serve as the day-to-day business lead, partnering with diverse stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Strategic mindset with ability to think critically and synthesize complex issues.
  • Experience in analytics and developing data-driven strategies.
  • Strong ability to achieve results in complex, ambiguous, and changing environments.
  • Highly organized with ability to multitask and shift priorities.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with ability to resolve issues through innovative solutions.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, understanding, and responding).
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cards knowledge with understanding of key credit card business drivers and operations.
  • Experience in a marketing-related environment.
  • Proficient in SQL.
