Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Roadx Express Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all logistics and supply chain activities are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations Management: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure that all transportation activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor departmental performance and identify areas for improvement to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and train a team of 11-15 staff members to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Financial Management: Manage finances or budget to ensure that all transportation activities are carried out within budget.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all transportation activities comply with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and standards for the transportation and storage of goods.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate for services and preferential rates with suppliers and partners.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports for senior management to ensure that they are informed of all transportation activities and performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as logistics, transportation, or business administration.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a transportation or logistics management role.
  • Work Setting: The successful candidate will be based in a general office environment within a trucking company.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and will need to have excellent attention to detail, be able to work under pressure, and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Personal Suitability: The successful candidate will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team environment, and have a strong work ethic.
