About the Role

Fraser Health is seeking an exceptional physician leader to serve as the Medical Director for Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) services. As a key member of our medical staff, you will provide regional leadership and support the successful delivery of care and services within Fraser Health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and direction to support the development of education for MAiD to Fraser Health staff across the region.
  • Chair the MAiD Quality Review committee and work with quality improvement consultants to ensure tracking and resolution of MAiD quality issues.
  • Represent Fraser Health on the provincial working group for MAiD led by the Ministry of Health.
  • Support the MAiD Care Coordination centre by providing medical direction and leadership.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for the MAiD service in Fraser Health.

Requirements

  • Eligibility for membership on the Fraser Health Medical Staff.
  • Five (5) years' leadership experience within the healthcare sector and experience in hospital-based leadership.
  • A Master's degree in health administration or business administration (optional).
  • Additional leadership training is preferred.
  • Experience with budgetary and operational planning is desirable.
