Job Summary:

The Clinical Educator is a key member of the Prairie Mountain Health team, responsible for upholding the organization's vision, mission, values, and strategic priorities. This role involves developing, delivering, and evaluating continuing clinical education, ensuring evidence-based research is incorporated into practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Regional Manager of Clinical Education and other stakeholders to identify learning needs and develop education plans.
  • Coordinate and prioritize education activities, considering regional implications and scheduling.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of clinical education sessions, revising content as needed.
  • Provide support and feedback to staff and colleagues on clinical education and best practice research.
  • Participate in achieving and maintaining client/patient care best practice standards.
  • Contribute to the development and review of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Participate in Regional and Regional Clinical Orientation of staff/affiliated students.
  • Develop and implement clinical orientation programs for new nurses/clinical staff.
  • Evaluate staff/students' knowledge and clinical progress, providing feedback.
  • Assist with mentorship and orientation of graduate nurses, if applicable.
  • Identify and recommend actions to improve the effective functioning of the clinical education team.
  • Maintain necessary reports, records, and statistics.
  • Prepare short and long-term planning goals and programs to address identified needs.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. A strong understanding of clinical education principles and practices is essential, as is the ability to maintain current knowledge and skills related to assigned clinical education portfolio.
