Park Ranger Supervisor

The District of North Vancouver is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Park Ranger Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Parks Department, you will be responsible for supervising and directing the day-to-day operations of our park rangers team, ensuring safe and effective park ranger services.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and direct the park rangers team, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
- Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures to ensure safe and effective park ranger services.
- Oversee and ensure public compliance with applicable regulations and bylaws, and provide education and engagement to support positive relationships with park visitors.
- Conduct regular patrols, investigate and process complaints and escalated issues concerning bylaw infractions, and enforce bylaws and regulations with tact, impartiality, and firmness.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, various levels of government, external agencies, organizations, residents, and the general public on matters related to the work.
- Diploma in natural resource management, environmental science, park administration, or other relevant field, supplemented by training in regulatory enforcement and emergency response.
- Considerable experience in regulatory enforcement, including some leadership or supervisory experience.
- Level 1 First Aid Certification, including CPR certification, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
