Position Summary:

The ADAS Performance Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and establishing essential performance benchmarks within their area of expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish primary performance objectives for all ADAS functionalities, informed by competitive analysis, customer feedback, and industry insights.
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking, vehicle evaluations, and manage technical requirements for ADAS features in both current and upcoming vehicle models.
  • Collaborate with the ADAS Functional Science simulation team to enhance simulation capabilities and apply them to various projects.
  • Develop and support comprehensive validation strategies for the testing engineering team.
  • Assess the impact of product or feature modifications.
  • Prepare materials and vehicles for executive ride-and-drive demonstrations.
  • Identify and resolve interdisciplinary challenges affecting ADAS system performance.
  • Recognize and address gaps within a rapidly evolving organization.
  • Assist Performance Specialists in establishing targets and waterfall processes originating from the Customer Car Profile (Target Vehicle).
  • Develop and validate the performance of ADAS systems on vehicles.
  • Support the Performance Engineer in defining virtual and experimental performance development plans managed through the Integrated Test Plan.
  • Ensure proper calibration of ADAS systems in collaboration with other departments and system suppliers.
  • Gather objective data to quantify subjective perceptions or clarify discrepancies between current status and performance goals.
  • Develop expertise in ADAS features and assist in roadmap development.
  • Create benchmarks for key ADAS systems and features of competitors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET accredited or equivalent institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Proficient in Google Docs, Sheets, and Pages.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to significant strategic changes while maintaining work continuity and motivation.
  • Willingness to undertake domestic and international development trips lasting 1-2 weeks.
  • Familiarity with competitive automotive ADAS systems, market trends, and safety standards (e.g., NCAP, IIHS, NHTSA).
  • Clean driving record and capability to operate test vehicles on public roads.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in ADAS product development.
  • A total of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Understanding of vehicle and electrical engineering development milestones.
  • Knowledge of the requirements development process and traceability.
  • Experience of 2+ years in organizations with a premium or luxury brand focus.
  • Familiarity with automotive dynamics and vehicle engineering variables that influence performance.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
