Job Summary

Niagara College Canada is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Officer to join our Global Customized Training and Consulting Division. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting projects that provide exceptional educational experiences through global customized training contracts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proposal Development: Assist Project Managers in writing proposals for Canadian and international agencies and institutions, ensuring that all requirements are met and proposals are well-researched and compelling.
  • Information Management: Help enhance the International's information management system for project management, proposal writing, and training resources, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare technical, narrative, and financial reports for internal and external audiences, including clients and funders, and develop communication tools such as web copy, social media content, reports, presentations, case studies, and marketing materials.
  • Logistics and Coordination: Coordinate with outsourced vendors and clients to meet project deadlines, and assist with logistics for incoming students and coordinate with other college departments.
  • Delegation Coordination: Coordinate visiting delegations, follow appropriate protocols, and liaise with host-country experts to determine and comply with legal requirements.
  • Database Management: Manage database entry and maintenance, ensuring that all data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Financial Reporting: Support financial reporting processes, including timesheet reporting, financial reconciliation, budget preparation, and monitoring.
Qualifications
  • Education: 3-year diploma or degree in arts, science, business, or education, ideally with coursework in international studies, international development, science, political or social sciences, environmental studies, or similar field of study.
  • Experience: Significant experience in research and report writing, consulting or training activities/global development practices in tertiary education institutions, and knowledge of international protocols followed by tertiary education institutions.
  • Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, demonstrated cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook), Zoom, Salesforce, and knowledge of cloud software (Oracle, Canva, SharePoint).
  • Personal Qualities: Strong organizational, project management, and reporting skills, ability to balance conflicting priorities in a changing environment, self-motivated and adaptable with experience handling confidential information.
