Job Title: Injection Moulding Set-up Operator

Groupe DSD Inc is seeking a skilled Injection Moulding Set-up Operator to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to operate and maintain our injection moulding equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating moulding machines, monitoring and inspecting the quality of material produced, and performing routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Weigh and mix resins, colorants, and other chemicals according to formulae to produce high-quality plastic compounds.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of material produced to ensure it meets our high standards.
  • Operate mixing machines to blend plastic and other chemicals to a specific consistency and viscosity.
  • Unload mixture into containers or conveyors for further processing.
  • Set up and operate calender machines to transform plastic bales or slabs into continuous sheets or films of specified thickness.
  • Adjust calender rollers for production line changes.
  • Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compounds through nozzles or dies.
  • Change dies on extruding machines according to production line changes.
  • Prepare and change moulds and adjust equipment for production line changes.
  • Follow formulation cards to mix resin batches for injection moulding processes.
  • Trim and sand plastic or fiberglass parts to ensure high-quality finishes.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in a related field, such as plastics processing or manufacturing equipment operation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs, and gloves are required.
Working Conditions:
  • Repetitive tasks and attention to detail are required.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle heavy loads are necessary.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking is required.
  • Physically demanding work environment.
  • Standing for extended periods is required.
Language:

English or French is required.

Work Schedule:

40 hours per week.
