Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Fraser Health. As a Community Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering respiratory care services to patients in their homes and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory care services to patients with respiratory dysfunction, including assessment, diagnostic testing, education, treatment, and rehabilitation.
  • Formulate and document respiratory care plans and disease self-management strategies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide diagnostic testing, disease management education, and respiratory intervention.
  • Assess patients for appropriate home oxygen/respiratory therapy and respiratory equipment.
  • Organize and conduct follow-up assessments as required.
  • Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide recommendations on respiratory care and oxygen needs.
  • Act as a liaison between the hospital, community respiratory services, and physician to provide information and access to alternative therapy and resources.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care conferences, COPD rehabilitation classes, and community respiratory meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) credentialing exam.
  • Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapists (BCSRT).
  • Two years' recent related experience in respiratory home care, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid BC driver's license and access to personal vehicle for work-related purposes.
