Your Role: Lead Systems Designer

As a Lead Systems Designer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the core mechanics and gameplay of our cutting-edge projects. You'll be responsible for designing, prototyping, and implementing complex systems that drive the heart of our games.

  • Design & Prototyping: Conceptualize and build innovative design systems that underpin fundamental game mechanics and align with the overall creative vision. Continuously iterate and refine these systems based on feedback and testing.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with team leads, production teams, and other designers to ensure seamless integration of your systems into the larger game world. Effectively communicate your design decisions and rationale to stakeholders.
  • System Ownership & Implementation: Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of your designed systems, from initial concept to final implementation. Ensure that these systems are implemented to the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Data-Driven Design: Utilize data analysis and player feedback to refine gameplay experiences and identify areas for improvement. Employ spreadsheets, charts, and other tools to model game systems and predict player behavior.
  • Iterative Development & Testing: Participate actively in the game testing process, providing valuable insights and identifying potential issues. Continuously seek ways to enhance the player experience through iterative design and refinement.

What We're Looking For

We seek a highly experienced and passionate Lead Systems Designer with a proven track record of success in AAA game development. You should possess:

  • Over 7 years of experience designing and implementing complex systems for AAA video games.
  • 2+ years of experience leading design teams and managing projects.
  • Deep understanding of game design principles, including core gameplay mechanics, player progression, balance, and retention.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard game engines (Unreal Engine 4 or 5 preferred) and development tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
