Job SummaryThe University of Toronto Mississauga's Forensic Science Program invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in the area of Forensic Analytical Toxicology. The successful candidate will have a PhD degree in Chemistry or Toxicology, with an emphasis on bench-based analytical chemistry, forensic toxicology, or a related area, and a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the field of Analytical Toxicology and a proven track record of professional practice activities as demonstrated by casework, court testimony, laboratory experience, or similar practices. Experience working in a forensic laboratory, or as an independent forensic consultant, or equivalent is preferred.
Candidates should also clearly indicate in the CV or cover letter any knowledge of Quality Assurance protocols and accreditation processes for forensic labs. The successful candidate will be expected to sustain and lead innovative independent research, and to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally-funded research program.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate students in a degree-granting program at the University of Toronto Mississauga
- Conduct research in the area of Forensic Analytical Toxicology
- Develop and maintain a competitive and externally-funded research program
- Participate in the development of the Forensic Science Program
- PhD degree in Chemistry or Toxicology
- Experience in bench-based analytical chemistry, forensic toxicology, or a related area
- Proven track record of professional practice activities
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance protocols and accreditation processes for forensic labs
- Experience working in a forensic laboratory or as an independent forensic consultant
- Established international reputation in the field of Analytical Toxicology
