Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide quality services, consistent with discipline and professional standards, including prevention, identification, evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, counselling, treatment, management and education of communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Speech-Language Pathology services to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
  • Conduct research and participate in quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of Speech-Language Pathology.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited/recognized university.
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM).
  • Membership in professional organizations, such as Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Competence in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions and values.

Working Conditions

  • May be required to work extended hours.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, etc.
