Speech Language Pathologist

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide quality Speech-Language Pathology services to patients, consistent with professional standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet patient needs
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Supervise and educate students and professionals in Speech-Language Pathology
- Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to advance the field of Speech-Language Pathology
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
- Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM)
- Membership in professional organizations such as Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training
Preferred Qualifications
- Competence in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values
Working Conditions
- May be required to work extended hours
- May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood, and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, etc.
