Position Overview
BMO is currently seeking a Senior Communications Specialist for a contract role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support communication efforts for incidents, issues, and defects that arise in production, necessitating internal and potentially external communications.
- Possess 5-7 years of experience in communications or technical writing.
- Experience in the financial services or banking sector is advantageous.
- Participate in meetings to evaluate new issues and determine communication content requirements.
- Compose and distribute internal communications to provide updates on technology issues and service interruptions.
- Post relevant notices on internal platforms.
- Prepare speaking points for frontline teams to address client inquiries as needed.
- Draft client correspondence explaining issues or outages, ensuring legal review when necessary.
- Document and monitor workstreams and project plans regarding Winning Culture status, assigning ratings for progress.
- Compile materials related to project issues and risks.
- Track adoption and progress at both managerial and employee levels.
- Monitor key milestone updates for various forums including SLM, BMs, governance committees, and influencer networks.
- Collaborate with communications and key stakeholders.
- Create executive update presentations and support reporting requirements.
- Integrate activities related to employee appreciation and engagement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Communications/Technical Writing (Required).
- Ability to simplify complex technical language into clear, understandable content (Required).
- Experience in inserting images and hyperlinks into communications (Required).
- 5 years of experience in the Financial Services/Banking Industry is a plus (Desired).
- Proficient in drafting and sending internal communications (Required).
