Job Opportunity: 0.857 FTE Mathematics Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Mathematics Teacher to join our team at J.L. Crowe Secondary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of mathematics courses, including Workplace Math 10, Workplace Math 11, and Foundations of Math 10.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach mathematics courses to students in grades 10-12
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to ensure student success

Qualifications:

  • BC Certification
  • Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent
  • Undergraduate degree with a major or minor in mathematics
  • Demonstrated current knowledge of the renewed curriculum for mathematics, learning outcomes, and appropriate resources
  • Previous successful experience teaching mathematics
  • Experience with a variety of learning management systems
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
