Your Role

As a Senior Associate, you will collaborate with a team of experts to address intricate business challenges, guiding projects from strategic planning through to execution within the Infrastructure Advisory Business Unit.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver in-depth analysis and advisory services across various infrastructure sectors, including transportation, water management, energy systems, healthcare facilities, correctional institutions, aviation, educational establishments, defense infrastructure, and maritime facilities, to identify optimal financing and procurement strategies for public sector projects.
  • Develop and refine financial models to support project evaluations.
  • Conduct extensive market research and analysis, including thorough due diligence of established practices in infrastructure projects and investments.
  • Assist in creating reports, information memorandums, research documents, and industry papers.
  • Aid in the preparation of business cases, proposals, and presentations, contributing to business development efforts.
  • Provide financial and commercial analysis of project finance structures, instruments, and pricing strategies.
  • Draft and review procurement documentation and schedules, along with benchmarking against precedent projects.
  • Advise on alternative financing methods (e.g., P3, AFP) and innovative transaction structures, ensuring a balanced approach to risk transfer and bankability.
  • Perform due diligence and detailed analyses to develop comprehensive strategies and business plans that support client investments.
  • Utilize your exceptional writing skills to prepare reports for a diverse range of assignments.
  • Contribute to successful proposals and engage in impactful client presentations.
  • Enhance your understanding of the Canadian advisory landscape while gaining exposure to a variety of clients and significant infrastructure projects nationwide.

Qualifications

  • A university degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field, complemented by relevant academic and practical experience.
  • An MBA or master's degree in a pertinent discipline is advantageous.
  • CAPM/PMP certification is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Government of Canada security screening reliability status or higher is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar advisory capacity, consulting for both public and private sector clients.
  • A diverse skill set, including strong presentation abilities, stakeholder engagement, business case development, report writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing proficiency.
  • Solid financial modeling and general Excel skills.
  • Experience in transportation, building, and energy infrastructure is a plus.
  • Familiarity with public-private partnerships, alternative financing, and procurement models for public infrastructure delivery is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in working with procurement documents (RFQ, RFP, and Project Agreements) and procurement models (traditional, alternative, collaborative) is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to interpret and compile information effectively.
  • Demonstrated writing ability, capable of producing concise summaries, reports, and recommendations that deliver exceptional value to clients.
  • A positive attitude and an energetic approach to client interactions, with the ability to influence favorable client decisions.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills to engage with clients, colleagues, and external industry experts.
