Retail Management Supervisor

The position of Store Operations Leader is pivotal in delivering outstanding customer service while prioritizing our team members as the foremost asset of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Embrace and promote the company culture that values team members as the top priority.
- Welcome and assist customers with a friendly and approachable demeanor, addressing inquiries and resolving issues effectively.
- Foster a positive atmosphere within the store by ensuring exceptional customer service is consistently provided by all team members.
- Support the General Manager in various facets of store operations.
- Under the guidance of the General Manager, assist in supervising, training, and developing store and lumber yard personnel on established policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular walkthroughs of the store and yard to identify and rectify any operational issues.
- Ensure the store is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing for customers.
- Oversee inventory management to maintain optimal stock levels, maximizing turnover and profitability while ensuring adequate supplies.
- Assist in the unloading of freight and stocking of shelves.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and Office Manager on administrative tasks, including ordering stock, maintaining records, generating and analyzing reports, payroll processing, scheduling, register balancing, and handling deposits.
- Support loss prevention initiatives as directed by the General Manager.
- Work alongside the merchandiser and store management to uphold promotional and permanent displays.
- Maintain assigned departments effectively.
- Adhere to safety standards and assist in administering safety training.
- Assume certain managerial duties in the absence of the General Manager.
- Ensure a safe working environment by maintaining situational awareness and reporting any safety concerns to management.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Capability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
- Proficient in computer skills.
This role involves managing all store and yard personnel.
Physical Demands:The ideal candidate must be capable of fulfilling all physical demands of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Extended periods of standing and walking throughout the retail and lumber yard environment.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs when necessary.
This is a full-time role, with an expectation of 45 hours per week. Workdays and hours may vary, including availability for days, evenings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of 3 years of retail experience, preferably in the hardware or lumber sector.
- Experience in supervising staff is advantageous.
- Management experience is a plus.
