Job Title: ECE Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and caring ECE Assistant to join our team at The School House Early Care & Learning Centre INC.

Job Summary:

The ECE Assistant will work under the supervision of early childhood educators to assist in the daily operations of the childcare centre. This includes assisting with housekeeping and cooking duties, supporting the development of children through various activities, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  • Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements:
  • Emergency child care first aid and CPR certification.
  • Criminal record check, immunization records, and vulnerable sector check.
  • Punctuality, dependability, excellent oral communication, interpersonal awareness, reliability, and honesty.
Working Conditions:
  • Non-smoking environment.
  • Air-conditioned facility.
  • Childcare centre setting.
Work Schedule:
  • 16 to 40 hours per week.
  • Occasional part-time position.
Language:
  • English language proficiency.
