Job Summary:

School District #42 (Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows) is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for maintaining, installing, repairing, and testing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to ensure the safety and optimal use of our buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, install, repair, and test a variety of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems
  • Repair and calibrate pneumatic and electronic controls and thermostats
  • Lay out, read, and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications of district buildings and facilities in accordance with by-laws and codes
  • Estimate time, materials, and equipment needed to complete work assignments

Requirements:

  • Appropriate Trades Qualification (TQ) Certificate in Refrigeration, Plumbing, or Heating supplemented by Controls Maintenance training
  • Two (2) years of experience in a maintenance environment after completion of the TQ, including servicing DDC controlled HVAC systems and instrumentation experience
  • Gas fitter Class 'B' Contractor's License
  • Working knowledge of computer operation and software applications related to work performed
  • Sufficient physical strength, health, and coordination to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and harmoniously with staff, students, parents, contractors, and outside agencies
  • Valid BC Driver's License

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time continuing position with a 12-month schedule (40 hours per week). The rate of pay is $40.76/Hour, plus an excellent benefits package.
