About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our Compensation Technology team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering critical features of our compensation management system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of experienced software developers to design, develop, deploy, and support key features of the compensation management system.
  • Drive the implementation of different compensation products and collaborate with the product manager team and other sister teams to execute on new projects.
  • Connect with customers on a regular basis, build the roadmap for the team, and ensure seamless communication with stakeholders.
About the Team

Our Compensation Technology team enables Amazon to realize the goal of compensation: attracting, motivating, and retaining talent. We provide the products and services necessary for calculating and managing every compensation change activity in the lifecycle of all global Amazon employees. We give all users a clear and consistent understanding of how compensation was calculated, how and when it can be adjusted, and the impacts of compensation adjustments.

Requirements
  • 6+ years of engineering experience
  • 5+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
  • 2+ years of engineering team management experience
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
