This role is pivotal in delivering residential services, outreach, and intensive support to children (ages 6-12) and youth with significant needs on behalf of the Residential Services.

The successful candidate will employ a collaborative, community-oriented approach to implement tailored care plans that effectively address the developmental requirements of children and youth engaged with residential services.

Collaboration with families, community members, and other key stakeholders is essential, as is the ability to adapt services to meet the unique needs of each child and youth.

As the needs of high-needs children and youth evolve, the incumbent must demonstrate flexibility in transitioning to provide varied services as necessary.

Occasionally, the incumbent may be required to fulfill their scheduled shift at an alternate location to support program needs.

Responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating within a team to implement individualized care plans for children/youth in both community and residential settings, establishing specific measurable treatment and outcome objectives;
  • Supporting parents/guardians and others in effectively engaging with high-needs children/youth, facilitating consistent connections with significant individuals, and modeling healthy relationship dynamics;
  • Adopting a philosophy that prioritizes placement stability while also aiding children/youth in their community integration and eventual return to the community;
  • Evaluating the recreational and social needs of children/youth and providing suitable activities in both outreach and residential contexts;
  • Delivering direct services to children/youth and offering support to Child Protection Services;
  • Contributing to the upkeep of the center, involving children/youth in completing chores as appropriate, providing academic support, tutoring, and supervision at the center, home, or alternate educational settings as part of the care plan;
  • Collaborating closely with other agencies to address the needs of children/youth receiving services and optimizing available resources on their behalf;
  • Taking responsibility for all tasks that must be completed by the end of the shift and ensuring accurate documentation is maintained;
  • Assisting new or relief staff with orientation and overseeing student placements;
  • Completing necessary documentation and incident reports, along with other duties as required.
