Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our healthcare team in an acute care setting. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing direct clinical care, including assessment and therapy, to patients in need of speech and language services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients with communication disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria.
  • Develop and administer treatment plans based on assessment results and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
  • Collaborate with professional colleagues to provide comprehensive care and education to patients and families.
  • Conduct clinical swallowing evaluations and video-fluoroscopic swallowing studies as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) is preferred.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, with prior experience in hospital settings and rehabilitation settings an asset.
