Senior Software Engineer, Performance Optimization

As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Performance Optimization, you will play a crucial role in enhancing Operant's innovative technology that addresses significant challenges in contemporary cybersecurity. Our solutions protect applications across all layers of the cloud-native stack, from infrastructure to APIs, and from data to AI.
We are dedicated to integrating cutting-edge technological advancements from Operating Systems, Distributed Systems, and AI into the realm of cloud-native security. Our mission is to develop a product capable of managing the increasing complexity and vast scale of today's cloud-native applications.
Operant has already gained recognition as a vendor in prominent industry reports, positioning us at the forefront of the market for API Protection and Kubernetes Runtime Security. We are looking for a talented individual to expand and enhance Operant's data analytics and machine learning capabilities to secure modern cloud-native applications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and scale Operant's data ingestion, querying, and analytics layers to actively secure cloud-native applications.
- Design and implement scalable APIs that enable customers to assess their security posture effectively.
- Create resilient and scalable code that meets the rapidly growing demands of our customer deployments and end users.
- Evaluate architectural decisions to ensure stability and performance while maintaining agility.
- Document and share design choices with the broader team to foster a supportive remote work culture.
- Work independently while making informed technical decisions amidst uncertainties.
- Engage with customer challenges and build features iteratively.
We are looking for candidates with:
- Advanced to expert-level experience with data systems, including databases, time-series analytics, and data streaming technologies.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work autonomously within a remote team.
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent industry experience is preferred.
Familiarity with:
- Fundamentals of Operating Systems and Network Security.
- Building applications that utilize Large Language Models or other AI technologies.
