About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Premium Sweets & Desserts Inc. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our dessert shop, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our products meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that they are working efficiently and effectively.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure that they are meeting the required standards.
  • Operations Management
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules, including planning and coordinating the preparation and serving of food.
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation, and ensure that they are ordered and received in a timely manner.
    • Prepare and submit reports on sales, stock, and other key performance indicators.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Prepare food order summaries for the chef, and ensure that all orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
  • Administrative Tasks
    • Prepare and submit reports on sales, stock, and other key performance indicators.
    • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and use this data to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
    • Experience in a food service environment, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
  • Work Environment
    • Fast-paced environment with a high level of customer interaction.
    • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and standing for extended periods.
