The County of Grande Prairie is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Business Advisory Services to lead our Business Advisory Services department. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and oversight to ensure the effective delivery of business advisory services to the County.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and direct all Business Advisory Services department operations, ensuring alignment with the County's strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure effective stewardship of Business Advisory functions within the County.
- Provide financial and business advisory expertise to support the development of Council reports, policies, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure the effective delivery of business advisory services and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Stay up-to-date with municipal legislation, new technologies, and systems to ensure the County's Business Advisory Services are current and effective.
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce or a related program.
- CPA (Canadian Professional Accountant) designation, Master of Business Administration (MBA) or proven track record in Business Advisory Services.
- Financial and business advisory functions related experience in a local government setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
The County of Grande Prairie offers a competitive compensation package, including benefits and participation in the Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP). We also provide opportunities for professional development and a dynamic work environment.
This is a full-time, permanent position with a 35-hour work week, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with an hour unpaid lunch break.
Annual Pay: $136,597 to $160,702
