Emergency Room Registered Nurse

POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will report directly to the Emergency Department Manager and will play a vital role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care within a multidisciplinary, family-centered care framework.
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department will deliver care to a wide-ranging patient demographic, including pediatrics, cardiology, obstetrics/gynaecology, trauma, medicine, and psychiatry.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Maintain current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario;
* Hold ACLS and PALS certifications;
* Possess a Critical Care and/or Emergency Certificate from an accredited institution, which is considered an asset;
* Be proficient in performing CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level;
* Complete a Health Assessment course or demonstrate equivalent experience;
* Have experience in Emergency or Medical/Surgical nursing;
* Exhibit strong organizational and prioritization skills, especially in high-pressure situations;
* Demonstrate excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, effectively collaborating with patients, families, and all levels of staff/community;
* Work independently while exercising sound clinical judgment;
* Show commitment to continuous education and professional development;
* Maintain a satisfactory performance record;
* Uphold the core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork, and Joy;
* Exhibit a strong commitment to customer service in interactions with patients, colleagues, volunteers, and community members;
* Understand and commit to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety protocols, including participation in regular in-service education.
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
Employment terms are governed by the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).
External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the last six months.
