Job Summary:

Lakeridge Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centered care environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care and practice activities
  • Provide care to a diverse patient population, including paediatrics, cardiology, obstetrics/gynaecology, trauma, medicine, and psychiatry
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Develop and maintain effective communication and documentation skills
  • Participate in ongoing education and learning to enhance clinical knowledge and skills

Qualifications:

  • Current certification with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • ACLS and PALS certification
  • Critical Care and/or Emergency Certificate from a recognized institution (asset)
  • Competent to perform CPR at a Basic Cardiac Life Support level
  • Health Assessment course or equivalent experience
  • Emergency experience and/or equivalent or Medical/Surgical nursing experience
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound clinical judgement
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education and learning
  • Must have a satisfactory performance record

  • Proven commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers, and other members of the community and public

Conditions of Employment:

  • The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051)
  • Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months
