Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control materials testing services on-site for various construction projects in Peterborough and the surrounding area.
  • Perform compaction testing during site grading and backfilling operations, including sampling soil and aggregates for laboratory analysis.
  • Sample and test concrete and asphalt for various building and infrastructure projects.
  • Support field staff in investigative work, including concrete coring, tensile bond testing, dowel testing, test pit investigations, and site data collection.
Requirements:
  • Prefers enrollment in or graduation from a civil, geotechnical, or engineering program.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new skills and testing procedures.
  • Access to a vehicle and valid driver's license for site inspections.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Ability to lift and carry 23.7 kg (50 lbs).
  • Willingness to work a regular 40-hour work week and possible overtime up to 13 hours total per day.
  • Willingness to travel up to 200 km per day.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
