Job Opportunity:

This position is a key role in the Fitness and Wellness program at The City of Red Deer. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing various group fitness classes, monitoring the fitness area and equipment, and performing opening and closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct group fitness classes, including aerobics, yoga, and other fitness programs.
  • Monitor the fitness area and equipment to ensure a safe and clean environment for users.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures, including setting up and tearing down equipment and facilities.
  • Provide direct program support to various recreation activities and events.
  • Collaborate with other recreation staff to develop and implement fitness and wellness programs.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Fitness Alberta (AFLCA) Certification in Group Fitness or Resistance training.
  • Intermediate First Aid.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta Driver's License.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Commitment to The City of Red Deer's Cornerstone Values.

Working Conditions:

This position will be located at a City of Red Deer recreation facility. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, weekdays, and early mornings.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $26.25 to $27.63 per hour.
