We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team at Cowichan District Hospital. As a member of our Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
About the Role
This is a full-time and part-time opportunity for a Physician to work in our Emergency Department, providing medical care to patients with a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality patient care in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Participate in teaching and education of medical students and residents
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Benefits
As a Physician with Island Health, you may be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including:
- Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
- Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
- Flat fee: $6,880
- Fee Premium: 4.2%
- CME: $2,000 in years 3 and 4 and $4,000 after 4 years in the community
