Emergency Medicine Physician

Our team at Island Health seeks a dedicated and skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join our dynamic and enthusiastic group of ED physicians. As a CCFP-EM and FRCP certified physician, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of patients. We offer a range of shifts, including day, afternoon, evening, and overnight, as well as Rapid Access and Diagnostic Virtual Unit (RADU) shifts. You will also have the chance to participate in teaching medical students and residents, and support the Emergency Department. Our hospital sees a high volume of patients, and we offer double coverage from 09:00 to 01:00, and triple coverage from 11:00 onwards.
We are affiliated with the University of British Columbia's Island Medical Program and participate in teaching medical students and residents, although this is limited to certain shifts. We are also the pre-deployment readiness site for military physicians and PAs. The Cowichan medical community is tight-knit, with great collegial relationships across the acute and community settings, and an active and engaged Division of Family Practice and Medical Staff Association.
