We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Physician to join our team at Cowichan District Hospital. As a member of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our Emergency Department.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing emergency medical care to patients, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient flow and optimal outcomes. You will also have the opportunity to participate in teaching medical students and residents, as well as contribute to the planning and implementation of new initiatives and projects.

Benefits

As an Emergency Medicine Physician with Island Health, you may be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA), including:

  • Recruitment Incentive: up to a maximum of $10,000 (pro-rated based on FTE)
  • Relocation: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on location relocating from)
  • Flat fee: $6,780
  • Fee Premium: 4.2%
  • CME: $2,000 in years 3 and 4 and $4,000 after 4 years in the community
