Aquatics Director Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aquatics Director to lead our Aquatics team and oversee the daily operation of our pool. The successful candidate will provide leadership to program excellence, ensure compliance with health and safety protocols, and develop and implement aquatics programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Aquatics team and provide guidance on program excellence
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols and YMCA regulations
  • Develop and implement aquatics programs for children and youth
  • Manage departmental budget and maintain accountability
  • Conduct internal audits and ensure staff compliance with qualifications, trainings, and safety procedures
  • Provide orientation and training to department staff
  • Teach and support instructors in aquatic programs
  • Represent the YMCA in a professional manner
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or related field
  • WHMIS training and Pool Operator's certification preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to speak multiple languages an asset
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills
