We are seeking a highly skilled Dietitian to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing expert nutrition advice and support to patients and clients across our healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients and clients, families, and communities.
- Advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors.
- Lead team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
- Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring Dietetic Interns.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
- 1 year of experience in diabetes-related care, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
- 3-5 years of recent experience in an acute care or community setting, with a strong understanding of nutrition and dietetics principles.
- Completion of an approved Dietetic internship program.
- Licensure with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
- Eligibility for membership with the Dietitians of Canada.
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification preferred.
- Experience working in primary healthcare and rural settings an asset.
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required or willingness to obtain.
- A competitive hourly rate of $42.58.
