About the Role

We are seeking a Healthy Living Reporter to join our Life and Culture team. The ideal candidate will have a knack for getting people to share their struggles and successes and be comfortable translating medical jargon into conversational English with easy-to-digest information that readers will be eager to integrate into their lives.

Responsibilities

  • Report and write stories in a variety of formats and lengths
  • Pitch original story ideas for multiple platforms
  • Identify health and wellness trends ahead of the curve
  • Work with colleagues across the department and wider newsroom to brainstorm story ideas as well as the best way to tell them
  • May require occasional travel for relevant conferences/trade shows and story research

Qualifications

  • At least five years previous reporting experience
  • Excels in both feature writing and service journalism
  • Ability to read and interpret studies for the Globe audience
  • Passion for treating service journalism as rigorously as any other journalistic work
