About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman to join our team at Heliwelders Canada Ltd. As a Handyman, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain the cleanliness and organization of our office building and industrial facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs; operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and debris; empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Facilities Management: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems; contact tradespersons for major repairs; advertise vacancy; balance rent roll; contact contractors for repairs and maintenance.
  • Customer Service: Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants; supervise other workers; move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens; clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • General Maintenance: Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair; clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: All weather conditions.
  • Work Setting: Office building and industrial facility.
  • Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks; physically demanding; bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability; reliability.
