Your Opportunity:
Alberta Health Services is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our multidisciplinary team in providing exceptional nursing care within a dynamic acute and continuing care environment. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in diverse clinical settings and possess experience in areas such as emergency care, medical-surgical, and cardiac nursing.
Role Overview:
As a Registered Nurse, you will deliver comprehensive nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Your responsibilities will include utilizing nursing processes, engaging in critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as educating, counseling, and advocating for patients and their families. You will take on a leadership role, promoting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safe, quality, patient-centered care that aligns with the values and vision of Alberta Health Services.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain clinical competence.
- Lead and support LPNs and Health Care Attendants in delivering care to both acute and long-term care clients.
- Participate in a collaborative team environment, contributing to the care of patients across various settings.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- For those who have not practiced as a Registered Nurse in the last five years, completion of required courses is necessary.
Additional Qualifications:
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Leadership skills and critical thinking abilities in an acute care setting.
- Significant experience in multiple clinical environments, including emergency and medical-surgical units.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining clinical skills.
- Familiarity with AHS facilitated continuing education programs is advantageous.
