Objective:
Assume a pivotal role in steering the sales, profitability, and operational objectives of the retail outlet by mentoring the hourly staff in daily functions to effectively achieve store goals.
Core Responsibilities:
Collaborate with or, in the absence of management, oversee the daily functions of the store and the activities of hourly staff to ensure exceptional customer service and optimize sales. Provide constructive feedback to hourly staff to foster a dynamic work environment and drive optimal performance and development. Conduct individual and small group training sessions for Sales Associates focusing on product knowledge, store operations, job responsibilities, and established protocols. Assist in the completion of all necessary documentation related to applicants and new hires. Support management in showcasing merchandise such as apparel, footwear, and accessories to enhance visibility and drive sales. Utilize customer service skills, training resources, and effective communication to cultivate staff development in alignment with departmental objectives. Create visual merchandise displays or adhere to guidelines provided by the management team. Aid in managing staffing and labor cost control measures effectively. Attain proficiency with the point of sale system by developing necessary operational skills. Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Process regular sales transactions involving various payment methods. Assist indirectly with product ticketing and verify documentation against received items. Facilitate product movement from the stockroom to the sales floor as needed. Monitor and sustain the sales floor replenishment process. Communicate inventory levels and product assortments with management. Update management on the progress of assigned tasks such as floor resets, shipment processing, and sales/markdown setups. Engage in sales, customer service, merchandising, special orders, cashiering, stock organization, and related store maintenance tasks to ensure adequate staff coverage and lead by example. Oversee the execution of store maintenance responsibilities. Address customer concerns, evaluate returned items, and resolve issues to maintain positive public relations. Ensure the highest standard of adidas service is delivered to every customer. Employ sales techniques such as upselling and providing technical information to customers to enhance sales effectiveness and achieve store and position sales targets. Utilize these techniques to train fellow employees. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager.Required Skills and Qualifications:
Must demonstrate and consistently exhibit the competencies relevant to the position. Ability to apply common sense understanding to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Capability to address problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized scenarios. Proficiency in using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and a point of sale system. Strong judgment and decision-making abilities. Competence in basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings, and public holidays. Availability for overtime during peak sales periods is also required. While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently stands, walks, uses hands for handling tasks, and reaches with arms. Occasionally, the employee may need to sit, climb, or balance, and may lift or move items weighing up to 34 kg. Schedule flexibility is essential, as this role requires evening, weekend, and holiday work.Educational Requirements:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required or must be in pursuit. Previous retail experience of three to six months is preferred.
