About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Lakeland Animal Care Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional care and support to animals undergoing treatment and surgery
  • Assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgery, ensuring the highest level of patient care
  • Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian
  • Conduct and assist in laboratory research, staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and technologies
  • Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
  • Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals, promoting their recovery and well-being
  • Provide wound and bandage care, ensuring the highest level of hygiene and patient comfort
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility, with the ability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Physical stamina, with the ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
