About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Lakeland Animal Care Group. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients and their owners.

Responsibilities
  • Animal Handling and Care: Safely handle and restrain animals undergoing treatment and surgery, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
  • Assisting Veterinarians: Provide support to veterinarians before, during, and after surgery, as well as assist with medical procedures and examinations.
  • Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under the direction of a veterinarian, ensuring accurate dosing and administration.
  • Treatment Administration: Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian, including injections and other medical interventions.
  • Research and Laboratory Support: Conduct and assist in laboratory research, including collecting and processing samples and data.
  • Dental Care and Support: Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry, ensuring the highest standards of care.
  • Nursing and Rehabilitation: Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals, including wound and bandage care.
Work Environment and Requirements
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Physical Demands: Work in a fast-paced environment, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, and kneeling as required.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and other team members to provide exceptional patient care.
  • Client Focus: Provide excellent client service, ensuring a positive experience for pet owners and their animals.
