Responsibilities

As a Cloud Engineer - AWS Deployment Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Building, releasing, and managing the configuration of all cloud deployments.
  2. Troubleshooting incidents to identify root cause; participating in blameless postmortems and contributing to an aspiring culture of continuous improvement and learning.
  3. Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
  4. Ensuring application performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards of quality and design.
  5. Being responsible for technical documentation for areas of oversight, including implementations and procedures.
  6. Providing on-call rotation for production support.
  7. Understanding and maintaining IT security principles to support compliance or regulatory requirements in supported platforms.

Required Knowledge, Education & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. Minimum five (5) years of directly related work experience with responsibility for multiclient or enterprise environments.
  2. Experience must include implementing and supporting cloud solutions on AWS platforms, and possess a solid background in Linux System Administration and SysOps.
  3. Demonstrated familiarity with firewall, networking, and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, and distributed networks.
  4. Experience installing and configuring application servers (e.g., Tomcat).
  5. Experience with information systems security principles, practices, and technologies, and using security and monitoring solutions.
  6. Proficiency in script development (e.g., Bash, Python).
  7. A successful record of managing multiple projects with demonstrated ability to work independently in rapidly-changing environments.
  8. Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment; highly collaborative team approach to work.
  9. Observability and monitoring knowledge and experience in some tools like Zabbix or DataDog.
