About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team at WSP as a Principal Contaminated Sites Specialist. As a registered professional in BC, with 10-15 years of experience in environmental investigation and remediation, you will be part of our growing team meeting our client needs around the BC province.

  • Lead, plan, and execute projects at contaminated sites for a wide range of sectors including mining, oil and gas, transportation, and government agencies.

  • Work closely with various practitioners including our Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals, and have access to a team with deep technical knowledge and expertise.
  • Direct projects from proposal to implementation, including proposal preparation, contract review, project delivery, financial control, and client relationship management to ensure deliverables meet client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills that you will leverage to empower your colleagues.

Requirements

  • Have a positive and enthusiastic can-do attitude, and a willingness to both learn and share your knowledge.
  • Be self-motivated, willing to be flexible and nimble, and able to think outside the box.
  • Have at least a bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Biology, or related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in environmental consulting.
  • Have a relevant professional designation registered in BC such as a P.Eng., P.Geo., P.Ag., P.Chem., or an R.P.Bio.
  • Be (or interested/eligible to become) a member of the Society of Contaminated Sites Approved Professionals of British Columbia.
  • Have proven experience in providing technical and regulatory advice to clients and completing senior review of project deliverables.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to lead a project team of professionals with excellent communication skills both internally with staff and externally with clients.
  • Have a clean Driver's Abstract, and be willing to travel on occasion.

Compensation

Expected Salary (British Columbia): $119,200 - $163,900

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
