About the Role

As a Dialysis Assistant at Mackenzie Health, you'll play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care within our Hemodialysis unit. You'll work alongside a dedicated team to ensure smooth and efficient operation of dialysis treatments, adhering to strict infection control and departmental protocols.

Your Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a safe and effective treatment environment by managing your workload effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and respect when addressing issues and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Apply sound judgment and best practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Promote a secure and inclusive atmosphere for all by adhering to patient and staff safety guidelines.

What You Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A solid understanding of dialysis machines and the inner workings of a dialysis unit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an acute care healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with a typing speed of 50-60 wpm.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear interaction with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
  • A proactive approach to work, readily adapting to new situations and challenges.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Additional Assets

  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or willingness to obtain it within three months of employment.
  • Fluency in a second language.
