Production Operations Manager

As a key member of the Operations division, the Production Operations Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations. This role is pivotal in supervising plant activities through the guidance of Production Supervisors. The focus is on executing tasks in a secure and efficient manner while adhering to all Health & Safety regulations, procedures, and quality standards set by Johnson Electric.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhance worker safety by minimizing repetitive tasks, identifying and mitigating hazards, and advancing 5S practices within the facility. Boost production efficiency through ongoing process improvements (e.g., minimizing downtime, reducing defects, decreasing wait times, and optimizing movement). Lower inventory levels by streamlining setup times and enhancing operational reliability. Reduce operational costs through meticulous labor management and efficiency enhancements. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures while managing employee performance via annual evaluations and a progressive discipline framework. Oversee labor and vacation scheduling to guarantee adequate staffing for operations. Minimize tooling expenses by ensuring comprehensive employee training and adherence to setup protocols (i.e., implementing error-proofing and protective sensors for tooling). Diagnose process issues and initiate corrective measures to elevate quality and productivity. Coordinate daily activities of Production Supervisors and hourly staff. Schedule engineering and maintenance requirements for machinery. Adjust production timelines to maintain workflow, considering equipment availability, workforce, and packaging needs. Address workforce concerns, inspire team members, and foster positive relations between staff and management. Set production targets for each work cell. Participate in Problem Solving / Continuous Improvement meetings as necessary. Comply with Johnson Electric's policies and procedures. Support and adhere to Johnson Electric's Safety and Environmental policies and practices. Ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental Health & Safety Systems. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Degree and/or Diploma with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role. Familiarity with Quality Systems in a TS 16949 certified organization. Proficient in computer applications and Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word). Strong leadership and team-building skills. Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels. High integrity and reliability, coupled with a strong sense of urgency and results-driven focus.Work Environment:
Primarily an office setting with some time spent in manufacturing areas. Day shift schedule.What We Offer:
