Healthcare Social Worker

The Health Care Social Worker is a vital member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing collaborative and holistic care across the primary to quaternary care continuum. This role focuses on the relationships between individuals and their environments, which are integral to psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The social determinants of health are embedded in social work theory and practice, and the dynamic and interactive process of engagement, assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation is a key aspect of this position.
About the TeamNova Scotia Health is the largest provider of health services in Nova Scotia, with some specialized services also offered to clients throughout Atlantic Canada. We are committed to providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient services, including academic, tertiary, and quaternary care, as well as continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions services.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from a recognized university, current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers, and at least two years of post-BSW clinical experience. The successful candidate will also have knowledge and understanding of the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, previous experience working in adult community mental health, and demonstrated ability to use a client-/family-centered approach.
What We OfferNova Scotia Health offers a competitive salary range of $33.96 - $42.89 hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus and up to $5,000 relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
