Functional Safety Engineer

We are seeking a talented Functional Safety Engineer to enhance our engineering team at BRP, a prominent name in the recreational vehicle and marine industry. In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Establishing a solid framework for the electric propulsion systems of our vehicles, ensuring compliance with functional safety standards;
  • Defining the electrical and electronic architecture for electric vehicles and assisting in Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) activities;
  • Overseeing the detailed design and testing of hardware and software in accordance with functional safety requirements;
  • Conducting Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and other safety evaluations;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to guarantee that subsystems are developed to meet specified requirements;
  • Working closely with design, quality assurance, and manufacturing engineers to ensure that the system aligns with BRP's core objectives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven ability to thrive in a project initiation environment;
  • Experience in the design and integration of electric vehicle propulsion systems;
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in electric vehicle systems;
  • Familiarity with ISO safety standards.
